All Settled In!

Hello!
Where has the time gone? I am already at the end of my 3rd week of school, crazy! I have been so busy, that's why I haven't been able to update all of you yet! My apologies :)

Life in Maui is not what I imagined, but so much more... The weather is wonderful, it gets a little hot, but I'm getting use to it now. It never rains in Kihei, but it's always windy! I go to the beach a lot in the evening especially to see God's picture perfect sunset. I have to remind myself everyday that I'm in Maui, I still don't believe it... I am learning so much in each of my classes, my favorite is Sermon on the Mount, Church History, and Women's D.

My M1 (volunteer work/service) is photography and BBQ setup/clean up. I am so blessed! The homework load has been a little more than I expected, but somehow by the next week it always seems to get done. :) I miss home, I miss the colors of the leaves changing & drinking pumpkin spice lattes with friends, scarves & jeans, SO if you take pictures or send me some love in the mail I would love it <3 I have a mailbox in the church so it's very cool- we leave secret notes in each others boxes & get important stuff too! If you don't have my address text/message me.

God is definitely challenging me and changing me in many ways. One thing that I have learned is when you are in a dry area of your faith, when you feel stuck or in a rut, search for the Lord harder. Don't give up- press on to know the Lord- in Jeremiah 29:13 it says, "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.", even when you feel like you have tried everything- keep pursuing Him. If you are broken and come to Him, he won't leave you broken. I am praying for you at home~ that we all can trust God with everything and find our satisfaction in Him alone because He is the one who fills us all in all. Another thing I've been learning is to have an attitude of humility and a servant heart. Jesus came from Heaven to Earth, that is true humility! Humility comes before all else. In addition, our attitude is a choice. We choose to have a good one or bad, to live Christ-like or not. We need to eliminate everything that hinders us from God, a stony heart is insensitive to Him. The more we seek out the Lord, His desires will become our desires as well. Ask yourself, Do you remember when you first accepted the Lord? Do you remember that mushy-gushy feeling you had, the excitement, and fire in your heart? How can we get that back? I pray that we all can have a child-like faith and surrender our lives daily to Him. In the busyness of life we need to stop everything once in a while & sit at the Lord's feet. "The world clamors, "Do more! Be all that you can be!" But our Father whispers, "Be still and know that I am God." (Weaver). I pray that, "deep inside of you there is a hunger, a calling, to know and love God. To truly know Jesus Christ and the fellowship of the Spirit. You're not after more head knowledge- it's a heart-to-heart intimacy you long for." (Weaver).

I hope all of you are all wonderful & know you are in my prayers.

Love,
Jordan
