Coming to a Close...

My first semester of Bible College comes to a close. I leave tomorrow at 3pm! I'm so excited to come home and see family & friends, but it's hard saying goodbye to some of my best friends. It's weird seeing all these people I didn't know at all everyday, they become like family, and then the semester ends and to say goodbye. And there is some you will never see again... I thought saying goodbye to one friend was hard....

God is so good. Before this semester I had never experienced God in such a real way. I mean sure I got camp "highs" but nothing like this. I have an intimate relationship with Him. The crazy thing is that is just average being a Christian. It isn't normal being disconnected from Him, and basing your relationship off your emotions. Only through faith and obedience comes a Spirit filled life.

I am so blessed for all the memories and how God has revealed Himself to me. He is not only my friend, but He is my best friend.

I can't wait till next semester, it will be new classes, faces, and memories. God has mighty things planned.

Alone Time.

We had a retreat in Hana a couple weeks ago, and each day we had 2 hours of alone time with the Lord. I realized I had never spent 2 solid hours with my King. How sad is that. I have had 1 on 1 time at camps but not more than 40 minutes max... It is so important to get away from all the distractions of the world even if they are good things, even if they are things that seem more important. Nothing should come before the Lord, shame on us when we make an excuse to not spend that quality time with Him. He should be our best friend, think about the dynamic of that type of relationship. You tell your best friend everything, come to them at anytime, come to them for guidance, you hang out and spend an immense amount of time with them. Are we doing that with God? Is He just your friend or your BEST FRIEND? I firmly believe that if we don't have a devotional life we are severely lacking in our relationship with Him. We should be meeting with Him once a day at least! Even if it's 15 minutes, He knows our heart. It shouldn't be a thing to check off our to-do list either, but a genuine time with our Creator- to talk, give thanks, share what's on our heart, and most importantly listen. Our number one desire in life should be to simply sit at His feet. Go spend time with Him, what are you waiting for?

"You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29:13

"Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you."

Psalm 9:10

"Listen to my cry for help, my King and  my God, for to you I pray. In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation."

Psalm 5:2

"You open your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing. The Lord is righteous in all His ways and loving toward all he has made. The Lord is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cry and saves them."
Psalm 145:16-19

Obsession

What can I do with my obsession
With the things I can not see
It's a madness in my being
It's the wind that blows the tree
Sometimes your further than the moon
Sometimes your closer than my skin

You surround me like a winter fall
You come and burn me with a kiss
And my heart burns for you
And my heart burns for you
And oh forever, keep me burning, keep me burning with the fire of your love.

Matthew 6:21

"For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." Matthew 6:21
Where is your treasure?
... think about it-
